Interiors TawakIt was my wife's Birthday and for obvious reasons my intentions were to visit a new place nearby Noida which offers good food and has imaginative ambiance. I had couple of option in my mind but as I always I wanted to try a new restaurant. While searching on the internet and zomato, I found Tawak an indo oriental restaurant and based on some positive reviews I finalized this restaurant for the dinner that night. Tawak is located in the sec 63 Noida market where you would easily find plenty of other options. It was monday night and as expected the place was almost vacant. As soon we entered the place we have been greeted by couple of Person, probably the Restaurant Manager and another staff person. The ambiance and interiors were impressive at first sight. As soon we got settled down and got the menus right away. The Interiors are definitely something to talk about, white bricks wall showcasing pictures of different places in India and Asia personally visited by the chef - cum- owner and portraits in black and white. Lamp shades, Sofa in red color and the bulbs hanging down wrapped in thick ropes has been done in very artistic manner. Another catchy part was the addition of ancient asian coinage on the ceiling. Fortunately, I met with Dipankar, who is the owner and chef of Tawak and gracefully explained more about Tawak and theme behind its interiors. Tawak, an unique word means Cinnamon, daalchini.

Tawak Offers North Indian, Mughlai, Chinese, Asian and Thai cuisines and can accommodate 50 sittings at a time. Its on the first floor, but they might make a small portion operational on the terrace as well. I found the space quite enough though. They offers seating for 50 people. During our conversation with the Chef-cum-owner we came to know about some of their specialties in Thai and Sri Lankan Vegetable curry, seasonal vegetables cooked in sri lankan style coconut based gravy.

As it was a dinner with some close friends and relatives the choice was more to India Mughlai dishes rather our all time favorites Continental. Our feast on that day included Mojito Mint, Hot & Sour vegetable Soup spicy and sour soup with shitake and tofu, Sweet Corn wholesome soup made with American corn, Bulgogi chicken wings, Kastoori Subz Miloni (mixed vegetables with flavors of fenugreak), Methi Mushroom malai matar was a rich and creamy gravy of mushrooms-peas-fenugreak , Goshtaba mutton minced with spices, shaped into balls and cooked in saffron and yogurt gravy. I have heard of goshtaba a lot in the past from some of my Kashmiri friends and thought to try this time, luckily it was available in the menu. This dish is completely a divine delicacy with full of flavor and taste. Methi Mushroom and Subz miloni turned out to be amongst the good options if somebody is not interested in Paneer and Dal only. As I mentioned earlier about our fondness for continental food and because of that we couldn't stopped ourselves ordering something continental and opted for chicken wings marinated in Korean chilly paste and honey flavored with sesame, and was exactly the flavor we love. The food was undoubtedly properly cooked and delicious in all aspects. They claim that the food is prepared using natural ingredients and no artificial color has been used, even you can find mint in the tumbler used to serve regular water.

The Service was also upto the perfection, however there were couple of fumbles, but still it was very prompt and fast. The only thing some people would miss here is that no alcohol served here. Instead of that this place is absolutely a perfect place to enjoy food and spend some good time with your dear ones.

Definitely a place which changes our mood with good food ;)
